Hey there
I’m Jo...
Let’s start from the beginning…
In 2017, my life looked a bit different. I was working in business development at a global media agency, living an exciting expat life in New York.
After starting my career in the music industry, I spent 10 years climbing the ladder in advertising and leading pitches for some of the world’s biggest brands.
SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT ME…
Corporate life
I loved my role and thrived on working in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
I also loved working with different teams and people, creating something together and working out to tell a story with personality, but life had become dictated by emails, late nights and deadlines.
On paper I had it all but as I sat at my desk one day, I had a sudden sense that there must be more to life than this.
The BIG Leap...
I decided to take a leap out of my comfort zone by leaving life in New York and taking a career sabbatical to travel.
I spent time in Canada, America, New Zealand, Mexico, Hawaii, and Bali. My travels were extraordinary and gave me the chance to slow down but also turned out not to be the extended holiday I had envisaged.
It instead left me asking even more questions about myself, my career, my life and what I wanted, and was the start of one of the hardest but most eye-opening periods of my life to date.
On paper I had it all but as I sat at my desk one day, I had a sudden sense that there must be more to life than this.
Something that made a huge impact on me was embarking on a yoga teacher training course in Bali (Yes, it’s the Eat Pray Love cliche!). I had practiced yoga for years, but the training gave me so much more than the physical aspect of yoga. It sparked my interest in a new philosophy for life and allowed me to find an incredible sense of calm.
I returned to the UK with a very different outlook on life and the road ahead had changed completely. Nonetheless, I was optimistic and I soon started training as a life coach which I felt was the perfect next step.
I loved learning to be a coach and as I gained confidence in myself and honed my skills, I felt sure that this was the direction my career should take, after some intense soul searching I had begun to find my way.
I still have one foot in the advertising industry but have shifted my focus from business development to people development, working part-time for a global media agency focusing on Leadership and Learning & Development.
Having navigated my own shifts, I aim to bring together my personal experience, alongside business expertise and coaching techniques to help others navigate their own career and life.
